About PM Kusum Yojana
This Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM Yojana) was launched by the Department of Ministery of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in 2019 in the month on March under which the Government aims to provide irrigation support to all the eligible farmers across the nation. Under this initiative, the Government aims to provide Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps at subsidized rates. The Government will provide a 60% subsidy to all eligible farmers to set up solar-powered irrigation pumps in their fields. As per the reports stated by the Officials, the Government has allocated a financial budget of INR 34,422 Crore for the implementation of this scheme.
